Bioidentical Hormones
Pellet Therapy
Pellet hormone therapy is the elite form of bioidentical hormone replacement. Not only does it create the greatest impact but it also keeps your physiologic levels of hormones the most consistent over months of treatment. When I moved from oral capsules to pellet therapy, my life improved dramatically. Not only was my libido back to what it was in my 20s but my brain fog, energy and mood all improved. I have been pelleted now for five years and would never go back to any other forms of BHRT and love seeing the results my patients have witnessed in their own health.
Alternative Forms
Bioidentical hormone replacement has other forms such as injections, creams, troches, tablets and capsules. I use hormone therapy to treat pms, heavy bleeding, irregular periods, PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, perimenopause, menopause and andropause.
Thyroid Disorders
This probably goes against everything your doctor has ever told you about thyroid testing but TSH is not an accurate test to evaluate whether or not your thyroid is functioning optimally. You must run a Free T4 and Free T3 test but the Free T3 is the most important because it is the bioavailable (active) thyroid hormone. It’s the one that does all the work and 99% of doctors don’t test for it. Not only that but just because you are “in range” on thyroid tests, it does not mean that your thyroid is functioning optimally. There are a plethora of hypothyroid symptoms and if you are suffering from them, you can benefit greatly from treatment.
GI Health
Naturopathic doctors believe that healing comes from the gut. I focus on GI health with every patient but for me, the most important aspect is the Gut-Brain Axis (GBA) which is critical to the health and balance of the neuroendocrine system and a part of its foundation. The vast majority of serotonin is in your GI tract so as a specialist in mood disorders, addressing the GBA is an important step in healing.
Weight Loss
If you are searching for help with weight loss, making sure your neuroendocrine system is in balance is critical. This is especially true as women and men navigate through menopause and andropause when it becomes more and more difficult to lose weight and easier to gain. I use supplements, medications and weight loss programs like GLP-1 agonists and peptides to help patients lose weight but any weight loss solution will be more effective once your neuroendocrine health has been optimized.
Mood Support
Life can be hard. I’ve been through my share of traumatic experiences and struggled with postpartum depression. I can help you navigate through your emotional state with better balance, calm and nervous system regulation. I’ve helped patients with depression, anxiety, irritability, PTSD and trauma using supplements for almost two decades now and they work and are a great alternative to try before using medication. I am a testament to that as well. I also specialize in helping patients get off antidepressants that are no longer working and find safer solutions with fewer side effects.
Insomnia
If you aren’t sleeping, you aren’t healing. Sleep is the number one parasympathetic time of our day and is critical to our ability to heal. I always say that I will do anything to help patients sleep as I know how profoundly lack of sleep can affect your energy, mental clarity and mood. I use a vast array of tools to help patients sleep including supplements, breathing techniques, meditation, medications, teas and good sleep hygiene.
Adrenal Fatigue
Are you tired? Are you exhausted? Do you make the excuse that at your age you should be tired? I think one of the main drivers of poor health is fatigue, which can easily be fixed with nutraceuticals called adaptogens. Making lifestyle choices that improve energy such as exercise, improved sleep, reducing stress and improving diet can also help improve adrenal fatigue and burn out. Helping patients reclaim their motivation and vitality again is one of my favorite ways of guiding them back to wellness.
